Thomas Chevaucher named Director of DS Performance

From April 15, 2021, Thomas Chevaucher will take over Xavier Mestelan-Pinon at the helm of DS Performance where he will seek to add to DS Techeetah’s score of Drivers’ and Teams’ titles in Formula E, while at the same time heading the technical team entrusted with the development of its Generation 3 car.

He will report to Jean-Marc Finot Director of Stellantis Motorsport.

Thomas Chevaucher began his career in engineering in 2005 and has spent the vast majority of it in the world of motorsport with Groupe PSA/Stellantis: initially at Peugeot Sport’s customer competition division, then as part of Citroën Racing’s WRC and WTCC programmes and, today, with DS Performance in Formula E.

He has been in charge of numerous key technical developments and has contributed actively to the group’s success in all the disciplines in which he has been involved. He has been part of DS Performance’s Formula E operation since the outset as Electric Powertrain Development Manager.

Jean-Marc FINOT (Director, Stellantis Motorsport): “First of all, I would like to thank Xavier who, during his time with the Citroën and DS brands, has played a part in securing the many titles we have claimed. We wish him every success as he moves on at FIA. We had no hesitation when it came to naming his replacement. Thomas Chevaucher has a thorough understanding of both Formula E and DS Automobiles. His skill set and experience will be invaluable assets as we look to defend the Formula E titles we have won these past two seasons. Thomas has yet to turn 40 but has solid experience behind him and is the fruit of Stellantis Motorsport’s policy of bringing young talent to the fore.”

Thomas CHEVAUCHER: “This is a fresh challenge and I am very proud of the opportunity. I have been part of the DS Automobiles team since 2015 and we have achieved so much together under Xavier Mestelan, so I am honoured to have been entrusted with keeping that momentum going against the formidable opposition we face. We form an agile squad of women and men and are determined to work together with the single aim of winning in association with Techeetah, with whom we have written some of the finest pages in Formula E history.”
